Will one tankless hot water heater service my entire house?

01

The simple answer is, yes! Visit our product guide to see which system will work provide a sufficient amount of water to your entire home.

02

Are instant electric water heaters expensive to run?

Electric instantaneous hot water systems have to be connected to the day-rate tariff. However, because there's no tank to lose heat, they're cheaper to run than day-rate electric hot water heaters.

Check out our online calculator to see how much it will cost you to run your hot water through out your home.

Savings of up to 40% off your hot water electricity bill is common by using a Gleamous GL5 and GL6 series, this could equate to $$$ of dollars savings per year.

03

Essentially, both electric and gas tankless hot water systems work the same. When trying to decipher whether electric or gas should be used in your home, it's important to compare the pro's and con's to both and then decide which is suited for your situation.

Here are some reasons we believe electric is better:

  • No ventilation required. Gas hot water systems have to be placed outside and a certain distance from the window. Electric hot water systems are so much easier. There are far less regulations. You can put one anywhere, from under your sink to in a kitchen cupboard.

  • Placed near point of use. Due to the electric hot water system being placed close to the point of use, you won't have to wait around for hot water. Whereas, having to put the hot water system outside will cause a longer wait time for hot water.

  • No maintenance required. Unlike gas which requires annual maintenance.

  • Better for the environment. No greenhouse gas emissions, small size reduces environmental footprint in manufacturing and disposal.

How do Electric Instantaneous Hot Water systems work?

An instant hot water heater only heats as much water as you need, when you need it. If you turn on the tap, cold water flows through a heat exchanger, switching on an electric element. So there are no heat losses, and you'll never run out of hot water. So it makes sense to pay for only the water you use.

06

Are the Gleamous hot water systems expensive to install?

Depending on where you live, and the availability of single or 3 phase power, installation could be as low as a hundred dollars for our DSK 45EP single phase model, so they represent very reasonable electric hot water system prices.

Installation must be done by a qualified electrician, prices vary per installer.

Does Gleamous Australia provide installers Australiawide?

While Gleamous Australia does not provide installers Australia wide, we can recommend you to one of our preferred installers.

The GL5-14kw and the GL5-24kw are the exact same model.  The difference between the two is, is that the GL5-14kw draws 14 kilowatts of power while the GL5-24kw draws 24 kilowatts. This means that because the GL5-24kw is draws more power, it is able to heat water at a faster pace. In turn, it is able to provide hot water to more outputs. The GL5-14kw will provide a sufficient supply of hot water for a home with 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom and 1 laundry. If you need hot water to any more outputs, you will need the GL5-24kw.

Storage tank water heaters store a certain amount of litres, be it 50 to 300 litres of water. When that amount is used up, your shower goes cold and you have to wait for the heater to heat the water back up (this is known as recovery time). Because an Electric tankless water heater heats the water as it passes through the heater, you can never run out of hot water, and the good thing is, you only pay for the hot water you use! Visit our product guide to find the system that will be best suited for what you need!
